Q: Is the material shiny?

A: The main body of the tablecloth has a matte cotton finish. Only the decorative band has a satin-like sheen, which provides a lovely, subtle contrast.

Q: What does '210g/m²' mean for me?

A: It's a measure of fabric density. 210g/m² is a heavyweight, commercial-grade fabric, meaning it's more durable, feels more luxurious, and  protects your tables better than lighter cloths.

Q: How much will this 1370mm tablecloth actually shrink?

A: You can expect 4-10% shrinkage, which is normal for 100% cotton. After the first few washes, it should settle to a consistent size that fits a standard square table perfectly.

Q: How do I get stubborn creases out?

A: For best results, iron the tablecloth while it's still slightly damp from the wash. A steam iron is very effective on pure cotton.

Q: Is the satin band on all four sides of the tablecloth?

A: Yes, the elegant satin band runs parallel to all four hemmed edges for a complete, uniform look.

Q: Can I tumble dry it?

A: We recommend checking the care label, but line drying is often best for longevity. If you must tumble dry, use a lower heat setting to minimise stress on the cotton fibres.

Q: Will this completely protect my wooden table from a hot plate?

A: The heavy fabric offers good heat protection from warm plates, but for very hot serving dishes straight from the oven, we always recommend using a suitable heatproof mat underneath.

Q: What is the benefit of a hemmed edge?

A: Hemming reinforces the edges of the fabric, preventing it from fraying and  unravelling during washing and  use. It's a sign of a well-made, durable product.
